政府統計處昨日公布，4月份反映通脹的居民消費價格指數（CPI）按年升2.1%，高過預期的升2%，亦比3月份的升1.7%高。政府解釋指，通脹擴大主要是由於4月份的差餉寬免上限較去年同期低，剔除此項及其他政府一次性紓困措施的影響，香港4月份基本通脹率按年升1.8%，惟仍較3月份高。
在指數組成項目中，價格錄得按年升幅的類別為煙酒（升18.2%）、電力燃氣及水（升17.8%）、衣履（升6.4%）、外出用膳及外賣（升4.2%）、雜項服務（升2.3%）、交通（升2.2%）、雜項物品（升0.8%）及住屋（升0.5%），錄得按年跌幅的類別為耐用物品（跌3.3%）。
