政府統計處昨公布，去年12月私營機構總就業人數按年跌0.8%，即減少20,900人；期內職位空缺為73,150個，按年多12,170個，增20%，教育業佔逾7,750個。
處方指，就業人數按年跌幅較大行業包括地產業、金融及保險業、製造業和進出口貿易業，除了進出口貿易業外，所有選定行業在去年12月的職位空缺均按年錄得升幅，其中運輸、倉庫、郵政及速遞服務業升107%。若按主要職業組別分析，私營機構職位空缺主要為服務及銷售人員，多達26,030個，其次為專業人員及輔助專業人員。
