財政司司長陳茂波昨在網誌稱，武漢肺炎疫情進一步打擊本已下行的經濟，對香港經濟實質影響程度，或高於沙士時期，前景未許樂觀。
他指在疫情蔓延前，去年第四季本地生產總值出現負增長，零售銷貨量急跌。目前內地旅客佔整體訪港旅客78%，比率遠高於2002年的41%，而近年旅遊業佔香港總服務輸出32%，高於沙士時期的21%，如旅客銳減，飲食、零售、消費及旅遊相關等行業都持續疲弱，會對香港就業市場帶來壓力，料最新失業率很大機會高於去年第四季的3.3%。
